This interactive event teaches experienced restorative practitioners how to deliver the training modules to their own colleagues, using our materials to provide training either in person or online.

Our Fundamentals of Restorative Practices curriculum was updated in August 2025. The new curriculum will be made available to those who attend an Essential Training of Trainers Update Webinar, provided they have completed the Training of Trainers: Fundamentals of Restorative Practices before August 2025. The Training of Trainers (TOT) event is for experienced restorative practitioners. It is of the utmost importance that TOT participants have real-time experience implementing the concepts of restorative practices in order to have a meaningful experience in this training and as they embark on their role as a trainer.
- To be eligible to attend the Fundamentals of Restorative Practices training of trainers event, you must first attend Restorative Practices for Educators within the last 5 years and be well versed in the use of affective language, the building of community, and facilitating proactive and responsive circles.
- To be eligible to attend the Fundamentals of Restorative Practices for Independent School Educators training of trainers event, you must first attend Restorative Practices for Independent School Educators within the last 5 years and be well versed in the use of affective language, the building of community, and facilitating proactive and responsive circles.
- To be eligible to attend the Restorative Conferencing training of trainers event, you must first attend Restorative Justice Conferencing within the last 5 years, and it is required that you are familiar with a restorative conference process and experience with responsive restorative practices.
- To be eligible to attend the Restorative Practices in Higher Education training of trainers event, you must first attend Reimagining Campus Community with Restorative Practices within the last 5 years and be well-versed in the use of affective language, the building of community, and facilitating proactive and responsive circles.
During the Training of Trainers, participants will be required to share their previous experiences with the group. There is no specific time frame developed by the IIRP to participate, because readiness is dependent on personal experience, and timing will vary for everyone.
- Attend the professional development event for which you are interested in learning how to deliver our curriculum. Participants must have attended the respective professional development event within the last 5 years.

- To be eligible to attend the Fundamentals of Restorative Practices for Independent School Educators training of trainers event, you must first attend Restorative Practices for Independent School Educators.
- To be eligible to attend the Restorative Conferencing training of trainers event, you must first attend Restorative Justice Conferencing.
- To be eligible to attend the Restorative Practices in Higher Education training of trainers event, you must first attend Reimagining Campus Community with Restorative Practices.

- Register for a Training of Trainers event. Once you complete the registration form, your registration will be pending. Registration review will take up to 5 business days for a credit card payment and up to 10 business days for a purchase order. You will receive a confirmation email once your registration is approved. These are scheduled throughout the year. The Training of Trainers can also be held on-site at your organization with a minimum of four (4) and a maximum of ten (10) participants.
- After your registration is confirmed, book any required travel and accommodations for in-person events. Please wait to book any travel or accommodations for in-person trainings until the registration is confirmed.
- Attend the training and network with other practitioners.
- Reflect on your learning and begin to train others at your organization.

- Review of IIRP training modules
- Participant preparation and presentation of content.
- Discussion of best practices for training implementation.
- Professional development maps that include learning outcomes and objectives.
- Suggestions for how to deliver the instruction online based on our years of experience with distance learning.
- Support for creating modules unique to your situation, if you are unable to deliver the materials as suggested by the IIRP.
- Facilitated conversation about the integration of the IIRP materials with other initiatives.

Please Note:
- All online events start at 12:00 PM Eastern US and run 4.5 hours. In-person events start at 8:30 AM in their local time zones and run 8 hours.
- If you require a purchase order, processing can take up to ten business days. Please allow for that in your planning and event date selection. Event capacities are limited, and seats are reserved as payments are received.

A general Certificate of Participation indicating 18 hours of instruction time will be provided by email at the completion of this online professional development event. Participants are welcome to submit this Certificate of Participation to their accrediting body for Continuing Education Credit consideration.

In order to help create the best learning experience for all learners attending, each registrant agrees to be logged in to their own individual device in a dedicated workspace while participating in this event.
Privacy and Intellectual Property
Registrants agree to respect the privacy of event participants and instructors by not recording video or audio or capturing still images of these learning experiences without participants' express permission.
The IIRP agrees to restrict its sharing of any recordings solely within the specific learning experience. Recordings will not be used for any other educational experience or public purpose. The IIRP’s free webinars, however, may be recorded and made available to the public.
Registrants agree to protect the IIRP's intellectual property by not recording audio or video of any part of the event or capturing still images of the IIRP's learning materials for anything other than a reference for personal use.
Cancellation Terms
We understand that emergencies happen and there are extenuating circumstances that may require you to cancel or change your registration. If an emergency arises and you need to cancel your registration:
- Up to 14 days before the event, you may submit your cancellation following the personalized link within your confirmation email. A $35 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund.
- If you need to cancel within 14 days of the scheduled event, we are unable to offer a monetary refund or credit to use for a future event.
A request to change your registration to another event is considered a cancellation and a new registration. Therefore, the above cancellation terms and conditions apply.
If your registration is paid in full and you encounter an emergency, in certain circumstances you may substitute a registrant up to 10 days before the event. Due to the prework required and/or tasks related to managing our events, we are unable to accept substitutions within the 10-day window.
